How we raid

We are Tiger Team, a guild of adults with professional careers and families who raid in World of Warcraft: Forever. We take the game seriously and bring the same care to the raid that we bring to our work. We agree what we want to accomplish, take responsibility for our part, and follow through.

We have four hours together each week, Wednesday and Sunday from 8:00 to 10:00 pm Central. We stop on time and do not add mandatory nights. Preparation takes time outside those hours, but most of it can happen when each of us is free.

Our first shared goal is progression through Hyjal Summit for 20 players when raids open December 9. Barrow Deeps is optional for groups of ten.

We use Discord during the week to work through the plan, assignments, and review. We read the discussion, contribute when we have time, and settle questions before the raid. Bots handle sign-ups, reminders, and review drafts; we make the decisions and check that the plan fits the people available.

Each assignment has a person responsible for it and a backup. We tell each other what we can do and raise problems in time to change the plan. During the raid, the Raid Lead directs the team and asks the Tank Lead and Healing Lead to make calls for their roles. This lets us spend more time on fights.

We sign up for the nights we can make, give early notice when plans change, and arrive at the instance for invites at 7:45 pm Central on the nights we accept. Reserves agree their nights and duties with us. We only ask them to remain available for cover during hours agreed in advance.

Taking the tiger team idea seriously means staying with a shared problem until we understand it. We look at what happened, explain what we saw, and change our own plan when the evidence calls for it. We raise concerns in the written review, give each other useful answers, and handle individual concerns privately.

We represent Tiger Team in other people's groups, in trade, and in Discord as well as in our own raid. We keep agreements about loot and trades, speak to people with respect when a run goes badly, and put our mistakes right. The same expectations apply to our GM, leads, officers, raiders, and reserves.

Two days before each raid

We close sign-ups and post the roster.

The day before each raid

We post the strategy and individual assignments in Discord and notify each player.

Wednesday and Sunday

Invites start at 7:45 pm Central. The first fight starts at 8:00, the last fight starts at 9:50, and the raid ends at 10:00.

The day after each raid

We post a written review and discuss changes for the next raid.
